Bio
John Palmer, son of Moses and Abigail Palmer, maybe was born in Stonington on June 18, 1705. He was an Ensign in the 6th Company of Militia in Stonington.

Over the course of his life his father gave him many acres of land, which had been in the family since Walter Palmer acquired it all. Historical records show dad gave him land in February, 1727 which was right after John's marriage to his first wife Anna Chesbrough. Sadly Anna died in March, 1727. She was just 20 years old.

John is soon married again, to Dorothy Noyes the day after Christmas,1728. Dorothy is the daughter of Captain Thomas Noyes whom John may have known through the militia. They begin having children, one of whom they named Moses (b. October 29, 1730). Then John receives more land from his father called "The Land on Mile Brook Hill" (May, 1734). Finally, in 1741, John receives land on "Palmer's Neck" (love the name!). John continues the tradition his father began by giving 5 acres of the land just south of his own home to son Moses in 1759.

John's death is recorded as June 4, 1761 in Stonington.
