Bio
The story of little Albert Schrom is a bit of a mystery. It is believed that he was born with most of the other Schrom children in Jefferson County Wisconsin on Nov 3, 1881. There is a birth record with that date and name and what could possibly be his parents' names, although very misspelled (Vincenz and Thersia Schrom). We also know that someone with the last name of Schrom died on March 2, 1888. It was not at all uncommon for children to die at this time in our country's history.

The challenge is, that is all we know. He was born too late to have been documented in the 1880 census and died before the next one took place. There is no other evidence (as of this moment) of his very existence except that several ancestory.com members also list him as the fourth child of the Schrom family.

However, it makes sense that a child was born to this farming family at this point in time. Those families who were drawn to the west were farmers looking for a place to raise a family. It was importance to their survival that they have a lot of children to work the land. Thekla was pretty darn good at producing children on a regular schedule. In fact, she averaged 24.5 months between pregnancies. If Albert wasn't her 4th child, then her entire record would be thrown off!
