Bio
As the second born son, William was named for his father. (Firstborn James named for his grandfather.) He was born in Fownhope on April 18th of 1858. He had his big brother and two older sisters and soon he had a little sister named Ellen and a baby brother, Thomas A. Ford.
At the tender age of 21, William marries an older woman named Margaret Jane Warburton. Margaret is a spinster at 28, so this young Stone Mason must have been a great catch for her. Margaret's father was dead before they married. It would be 9 whole years before the couple had a child, when Margaret was 37. This is very old to be having your first child back in the Victorian age!
William named his son William Charles. We can guess that this may be his only child, as census record show that William, Margaret and "Willie", now 13 years old, are living in Egham Berkshire in 1901. William the father is still working as a Stone Mason.
William dies on May 9th, 1930 and his nephew Frank Longworth serves as the Lawyer to manage the affairs. The Estate was worth a little over $8,000 converting to 2017 U.S. dollars.
