Bio
John Arthur Longworth was called Arthur by his family, and grew up in Farnsworth, England. He had an older brother Frank, and when he was about 5 his little sister Annie was born. Sadly she died as a baby.

By 1911 Arthur's father passed away too, and he and older brother Frank live on 4 Alfred Street with their mother Ellen. You may recall that Ellen is the older sister of Thomas A Ford, so she is also our grandpa Ford's Aunt. Ellen has a job as an Elementary School Teacher. Both boys are working as clerks to help the family finances. Since Arthur is only 16, and his mom is a teacher, I imagine she insists he finish up his schooling as well.

Just four years later Arthur gets married to a gal named Eleanor at St. Mark's Church in Bolton, on April 30th, 1915. A spring wedding in England sounds lovely, but we all know a war is on and soon Arthur enlists. By December of that year, Arthur has joined the Royal Engineers Regiment to battle Adolf Hitler. He is awarded the Victory Medal and comes home to his family.

We know he lives a good long life and keeps in touch with his cousin William K. Ford I over in the United States of America, who comes to visit him on a trip or two to England. The two of them died within 2 months of each other!
