Bio
Elihu is the fourth son of Walter Palmer, but the first born son of Rebecca (Short) Palmer. I note this because Elihu was named the executor of Walter's will, an honor normally reserved for firstborn males of the time. His father's estate was massive, by any generation's consideration, and included hundreds of acres of land in several cities across New England.

Elihu never marries. In a book called "Homes of our Ancestors" written by Ann Dennison Wheeler in 1903, we learn of a possible cause of Elihu's death at the age of 29. She writes that Elihu was mowing marsh grass in a field with a scythe. (Marsh grass is very wet and likely to have streams running through it.) The author states that Elihu saw a fish in the marsh and went to catch it with the spear end of the scythe. Alas, he cuts himself in the neck in the process. His wound was too deep to repair, and he soon died.

Before his death he penned a short will leaving his land and possessions to his nephews.
