Bio
Frank Beeman Barclay Sr was born on a farm on February 7, 1869 in Dalton Georgia. His father John also worked in a retail grocery store and later owned one, so perhaps some of their produce or meat was sold in the store. Frank's older brother Donald was already 11 when he was born and William was 2.

Both of Frank's parents were immigrants to our country. His father came from Warwickshire England and his mother was from Canada. They both must have been strong and courageous people to travel so far and to settle in the Deep South during challenging times and living through the Civil War.

By 1880 we find Frank's father has started working for the railroad that was quickly finished during the war. His brother Donald works there too and we know that Frank is soon to follow, but not before his brother Robert is born around 1872 and John R comes four years later.

When he is just 21 years of age, Frank's father dies. Frank is working for the railroad now which quickly moves him to Mississippi. Here he meets Frances Bertha Rodenbaugh, whom everyone calls Bee. She sounds like a spunky fun loving gal, and the two are married on November 2, 1898. One year later they welcome their first child, Vivian, on Armistice Day. The railroad keeps Frank hopping. In 1900 they move to New Orleans. In 1902 they are living in Memphis where William is born in April. Sarah Kathryn is born there in 1906 before they move back to Mississippi. It is here, in Pike County, where Frank Jr is born in 1908. Then it's back to Memphis for the young family.

They get to stay in Memphis for many years as Frank is promoted to Superintendent. By 1930 Frank has made General Superintendent and is moved to Chicago. As always, they live in an apartment, but this time in the big city. Perhaps the big city life did not agree with her, but just one short year later, Bee dies. Frank takes her back to where they lived the longest, and buries her in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Memphis.

Vivian is living in Memphis and gets divorced. Soon Frank is back there too and by 1940 he and his daughter and her son Edwin are living at 259 North McClean Blvd. Vivian will soon have her hands full as her father gets cardio vascular disease, becomes senile, and dies after just one day in the hospital on November 4, 1948. He is buried next to Bee on November 6 in Forest Hills Cemetery.
