Mary Ann Biggs was born in Fownhope. Her father was a farmer with 150 acres of land. She married James on May 13, 1879. We are lucky to know her maiden name as it is easy to confuse her with Jame's older sister Mary Ann. I am thankful they did not name any of their daughters Mary Ann!
In the span of 14 years, Mary Ann gave birth to 7 children. She lived another 30 years before her death in 1925.
